Atos Healthcare Claimants

ESA Claimants

Atos Healthcare carries out disability assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). If you are claiming benefits as a result of a disability or injury, you may be required by the DWP to have an assessment with a qualified health care professional as part of your claim process.   Atos Healthcare conducts disability assessments, using criteria set out by government, and provides the DWP with independent advice which is used by a DWP Decision Maker, along with any other information they have received, to decide on your entitlement to benefit.

These benefits include: Employment Support Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, and Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.  We also conduct assessments for Veterans UK.

Answers to key questions for people making claims

We do not decide your entitlement

We cannot give you advice or provide an opinion on the outcome of your claim. Our role is to carry out an assessment and provide this to the DWP in the form of a report.  The DWP Decision Maker may use other information when considering your entitlement to benefit.  We are not usually informed of the outcome of individual decisions and we have no targets related to decisions made.
