In the UK, around 29,000 road accidents each year involve vans and trucks. These result in injuries to 10,000 van and truck drivers and their passengers, with nearly 1,200 people being killed or seriously injured.* Companies have a moral and legal obligation to ensure that their drivers are fit to drive. Any employee required to drive large vehicles (over 3,500kgs), buses or minibuses (9-16 seats) must submit a D4 Medical Report, completed by a medical practitioner. These need to be provided every five years for employees aged between 45 and 65. Atos Healthcare has experienced practitioners in over 100 facilities nationwide who are able to conduct D4 driver medicals, offering a comprehensive, cost-effective service that minimises delays and disruption. To find out how you can ensure your drivers are fit for the job, contact Atos Healthcare. * Source: Think! Road Safety website |
