Health Surveillance

Health Surveillance provides the opportunity to put strategies in place which detect the early signs of work-related ill health in employees exposed to certain health risks.

It helps employers meet their Health and Safety obligations where there is an identified disease or adverse health effect related to work. For example, where:

There is a reasonable likelihood of the disease or adverse health
effect occurring
There is a valid technique available to detect indications of the disease
or condition
Health Surveillance will further the protection of the health of the
employees concerned.

Health Surveillance can therefore complement control measures you already have in place for employees who are at risk from:

Noise or hand-arm vibration
Solvents, fumes, dusts, biological agents and other substances
Asbestos, lead or work in compressed air
Ionising radiations or diving.

We have a great deal of experience delivering Health Surveillance solutions, working with customers to assess their requirements and design and deliver programmes on-site or at an Atos Healthcare clinic. Our qualified staff work to Health and Safety Executive and British Standards criteria.
