Train: Five Ways train station is just 2 minutes walk from the assessment centre. If you wish to buy a through ticket you should ask for Birmingham Five Ways. Trains normally depart from platform 10 or 11 at New Street Station and the destination will either be to Redditch or Longbridge. Five Ways is the first stop – the journey takes about 3 minutes. Upon leaving the station you should turn left and walk up Islington Row Middleway. The assessment centre is situated on the corner of George Road and Islington Row Middleway (approx. 1 minute walk).
Car: Unfortunately there are no parking facilities at Five Ways House. Some parking spaces are available in George Road and Frederick Road but time restrictions apply. The nearest car park can be found in Tennant Street.
From North, South and East – leave junction 6 of M6 and join the A38(M). Follow the A38(M). This becomes Corporation Street. Follow this over the flyover and into Queensway tunnel. Exit tunnel and the road becomes Bristol Street. Turn right at the next big junction into Lee Bank Middleway (McDonalds is on one corner of this junction). Lee Bank Middleway becomes Islington Row Middleway. You will pass Five Ways train station on your left. Turn left into George Road. The entrance to the assessment centre can be found on the corner of George Road and Islington Row Middleway.
From West – Join the A456 and follow through Bearwood where the road becomes Hagley Road. As you approach Five Ways Island make sure you are in the left hand lane (do not take underpass). Take the 4th exit off the island into Calthorpe Road. In about 100 yards turn left into St. James Road. Take the 2nd left into George Road. The assessment centre is situated at the end of George Road just before the junction with Islington Row Middleway.
Bus: Take the bus into Birmingham city centre. From the city centre take a bus up Broad Street (21, 22, 23, 24 or 29). These can be caught from Colmore Row by the cathedral in the city centre. You will need to exit the bus at the stop just after the large cinema complex at Five Ways shopping centre. Take the subway and follow directions for Five Ways train station. The assessment centre is situated in the large grey building on the right hand side. Entrance to the assessment centre can be gained through the door at the end of the building on the corner of Islington Row Middleway and George Road.
Please note that this assessment centre is located on the 1st floor. The assessment centre can be accessed by lift but if an emergency evacuation of the building is required such as a fire alarm, the lift cannot be used. There are 44 steps to the (lower) ground floor.

When you leave Five Ways House, after your examination, the exit is on the Lower Ground floor.
