Atos Healthcare uses a pool of self-employed doctors who assist in the delivery of disability and other assessments on people who claim various benefits. Their reports are forwarded to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Examinations are performed in one of our 150 Medical Services Examination Centres nationwide or in the client’s home. Full training is given to allow our Medical Advisers to become specialists in the field of Disability Assessments.

You could become a part of this valuable resource. The key attributes we're looking for are:

  • Ability to assess and examine all of the physical and mental conditions which affect an individual's capacity to work
  • Ability to analyse information and medical evidence and present a report in a concise and professional manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact with fellow professional and administrative colleagues.

You should have experience as a general practitioner or in related disciplines which require the exercise of broad-based examination, investigation and diagnostic skills. Other qualifications include:

  • Three years' post-registration general medical experience, since full registration.  A background in rehabilitation medicine, disability assessment or psychiatry would be an added advantage
  • Full, unconditional registration with the General Medical Council
  • Professional Medical cover
  • Basic IT skills.
